An Escape from the Norm: Makerspaces and Escape Rooms in Academic Libraries

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Learn the ins and outs of makerspaces and escape rooms, as well as their unconventional applications for an academic library, as you try to escape from the UAH Salmon Library's makerspace! No prior experience or knowledge of makerspaces or escape rooms necessary, and staff from all libraries are welcome.

Participants will receive a brief introduction to the escape room and will work together to locate clues and solve puzzles to "escape". Clues will feature Charger SPACE's history, resources, services, workshops, and faculty partnerships. Afterwards, the presenter will briefly discuss the escape room creation process and other themes, answer questions from participants, and provide a handout with additional information and resources, including a detailed creation overview and budget for this room.
