Intertwined Futures: Co-weaving for Resiliency and Reducing Burnout in Library Work

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Weaving, knitting, sewing, and a wide range of other forms of textile arts are often used as therapeutic tools as well as tools for reducing burnout and allowing for individuals and groups to tap into their creativity. Using color, texture, shape, line, and other elements of visual rhetoric translated into textile elements, participants in this Make/Hack/Play session will create a collaborative textile piece that represents aspects of their own work and life. The end product will be a beautiful and colorful textile art piece, totally unique to the group of attendees at this session. At the end, we will discuss takeaways from the process and ruminate on how making and creativity could impact our resilience, empathy, burnout, and other elements of our work lives.
