Equipment Lending in Libraries: Challenges and Success Stories

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Technology equipment lending programs promote equitable access to technology resources, ensuring that individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds have an opportunity to utilize devices that they may not be able to afford otherwise. This fosters inclusivity and bridges the digital divide within communities. They also offer patrons the chance to explore and experiment with various devices, enabling them to develop essential digital literacy skills. Users can access educational software, engage in multimedia projects, and gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies, thereby enhancing their learning opportunities.

The discussion will focus on the numerous benefits, as well as challenges for implementing and managing these programs. Through information sharing among the participants, everyone will learn from each other's experience, and create sustainable and impactful lending programs that serve their communities effectively in the digital age.
